Stoney Ridge Bluegrass Band is an East Bay bluegrass band that plays for parties and events all over the San Francisco Bay Area. The band was started in early 2010 by a talented group of musicians who has played for several years in various other bluegrass bands in the local San Francisco Bay area. We provide fun, energetic music at reasonable rates for parties and events.
So while you may not be familiar with our name, there's a strong chance that you've heard most of us play at one venue or another over the past several years.

Bluegrass with a few twists here and there
Our main love is bluegrass music, and we play a broad range of both traditional and contemporary blue grass songs and tunes, from traditional favorites like "Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms ", J D Crowe's "Old Home Place", Jimmy Martin's "Hold Whatcha Got" and Flatt & Scruggs' "Some Old Day " to contemporary songs like Daily and Vincent's "Cumberland River", Bill Emerson's "Ridin' My Thumb to Mexico", and recent IBMA Song of the Year nominee "Leaving Baker County".
Our repertoire also includes a few country songs like Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried", Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues", Jerry Reed's "Eastbound and Down", and others. We also offer a sprinkling of traditional and recent gospel songs such as "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", and instrumentals that range from "John Hardy", "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", fiddle tune favorites "Cherokee Shuffle", "Big Sciota", and "Whiskey Before Breakfast", to Bill Emerson's "Theme Time" and several others. We also might just include an original song or two to keep things fresh.
Everyone in the band sings, which adds a lot of variety and interest to our performances and insures that we will continually be adding new and fresh material. So give us a call today. We'd love to play for your party or event.
